The Royal Ulster Constabulary Reserve Long Service Medal

All who have served for a period of not less than 15 years in the Royal Ulster Constabulary Reserve (except those who already hold the Special Constabulary Long Service Medal) and who are recommended by the Chief Constable as having been willing and competent to discharge the duties of a member of the Royal Ulster Constabulary Reserve and PSNI Reserve, and having performed such duty as has been required of them by the Chief Constable during that period, will qualify for the award of the Royla Ulster Constabulary Reserve Long Service Medal.

Each further period of 10 years service in the Royal Ulster Constabulary Reserve and PSNI Reserve will qualify the holder of a Medal for the award of a Bar. Holders of the Special Constabulary Long Service Medal will not be awarded the Royal Ulster Constabulary Reserve Long Service Medal but instead will be awarded Bars to the Special Constabulary Long Service Medal. A rosette will be worn on the medal ribbon.

Service in the Ulster Special Constabulary which has not been counted towards an award may be aggregated with service as a member of the Royal Ulster Constabulary Reserve towards the award of the Medal or a Bar
